Paragraph 6 of Memorandum enclosed in your letter
I am of February 11th to Minister for Foreign Affairs. anxious to obtain authoritative statement of Chinese law
on the following points:-

Do the following possess Chinese Nationality
(a) Children of denetionalised Chinese born before the denationalisation of the father (i) in China
(ii) abroad.
(b) ditto, born after the denationalisation of
the father (i) in China (ii) abroad.
2.
In the case of children born in China of British subjects of Chinese race who have not been de- nationalised are such children eligible for certificates of denationalisation if at the time of birth the father (a) was a transient visitor to China (b) was permanently
residing in China.
